Weixing (Dennis) Deng

I’m Dennis Deng, a designer and developer with a background in UX/UI design, front-end development, and game development. I graduated with Distinction from Simon Fraser University’s Interactive Arts and Technology program and hold a Game Design diploma from Vancouver Film School. During my year-long UX co-op at Nutrien, I worked on internal digital tools, including dashboards and interfaces that help people navigate complex information.

My path into digital media took me from studying economics to exploring game design, where I found opportunities to combine creativity with programming. I enjoy working across visual design and development, turning ideas into interactive experiences. My current interest is technical art, particularly shaders and visual effects in Unity. Through projects such as Gemini, a puzzle-exploration game, I have contributed to art, visual effects, shaders, and programming.

At the Centre for Digital Media, I’m pursuing the Master of Digital Media to strengthen my collaboration skills and better understand how my background can contribute to interdisciplinary teams. I hope to develop a clearer direction in technical art while bringing my experience in design and development to collaborative projects.
