I’m Kazama (Xiangrong) Chen, a multidisciplinary artist working across animation and games. I work in both 2D and 3D, with experience in visual development, character and environment design, storyboarding, modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation.
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Animation from Sheridan College and serve as Art Director for several indie games, including Star Ring Convenience Store, released on Steam. I also created storyboards for Shanghai Film Studio’s animated logo through an outsourced project. Familiar with both 2D and 3D pipelines, I connect visual direction with hands-on production and collaborate across art, design, and development.
Through over five years of freelance and institution-based teaching, I’ve built relationships with students and creative practitioners internationally. As Design Track Lead at X Academy, I helped plan curricula, supported recruitment, and advised capstone projects.
Currently pursuing a Master of Digital Media at the Centre for Digital Media, I aim to create immersive XR experiences that combine my skills in 2D and 3D art, animation, and visual storytelling, while deepening my understanding of interaction design and interdisciplinary collaboration.
