Dr. Kimberly Voll

A software developer, educator and artist, Dr. Kimberly Voll holds a PhD in computer science, specializing in artificial intelligence, game design, UX and cognition. Kim currently teaches game design, user experience and project management at the Centre for Digital Media (having previously taught computer science at UBC for many years), and is also an independent game developer/researcher, with a current title on Steam (ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS) as well as various other mobile games. A strong believer in the game-development community, Kim helps run Full Indie, a local meet up for Vancouver independent developers, ran the Vancouver Global Game Jam (one of the largest game jams in the world) for many years, and founded the organizations iamagamer.ca: “games for all, by all”, and Think Global Hack Local.
