Alan Correa is an audiovisual creative professional. He was born in Medellin Colombia and grew up surrounded by music and art. He graduated with honors from the Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication Program at the Universidad de Antioquia.
While there he specialized in Art and New Technologies at the Film and TV School of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá.
Alan has directed and edited documentaries, TV commercials, and music videos. He is passionate about audio design and music production.
Having worked in Colombia for four years in film production he was awarded a Colfuturo, Proimagenes and SFU scholarship to attend university outside of Colombia. He elected to further pursue his academic career as a master’s student at the University of British Columbia in the Digital Media program.
During this period he explored storytelling possibilities using mobile devices and interactive platforms in this creative technology driven environment.
Additionally, he worked on industry projects with other professionals solving commercial problems. He used his visual and sound perspective to provide user experience and interface design solutions.
