Jiesi is originally from Singapore, and completed her undergraduate degree in Information Engineering and Media at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. During her studies, she took up an internship at A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research), where she researched image inpainting techniques to restore images automatically. Upon graduation, she worked as an Information Analyst, and then as an Operations Manager for the Ministry of Defence in Singapore. Her responsibilities included requirements gathering, user testing and training. She also has experience with web design, graphic design, audio visualization, sound design, 3D design and film and enjoys creating new things in any form of media.
A hobby of hers is playing the flute for a Chinese orchestra, an instrument she has been learning for almost 20 years. She also enjoys swing dancing, and writing collaborative original fiction for an online forum.
