Parmida Zarrinkamar

Parmida has spent her career to date in fundraising, marketing, client success, and project management. Most recently, she served as the manager of individual giving for the Arts Club, one of Canada’s largest theatre companies. There, she managed the membership program and led a team in a client-facing role that successfully increased revenue by over 75% and the donor base by over 100% during her tenure. She first ventured into UX and UI when she worked on a team that, together with L2 Interactive, developed an online patron centre for the Arts Club. She has successfully designed and produced content for over 10 multi-platform campaigns (including direct mail, web, email, crowdfunding, and installations). Through these campaigns, direct solicitations, and over 60 events, she has raised more than $2 million dollars for the non-profit performing arts in Vancouver.

Parmida loves people and ideas—and bringing out the best in both through creative collaboration. She graduated with an interdisciplinary BA at UBC, where she focused on literature, cultural theory, and historical studies of the late Victorian and modern era. She has an insatiable curiosity and love of all kinds of storytelling, history, and mythology. She continues to draw on her education for design inspiration, and an interdisciplinary approach that provides an advantage in problem solving and synthesizing ideas to innovate.

Parmida came to the CDM to join the community of artistic and technological cowboys on the frontier of tech. She hopes to gain the skills to bring stories to life, and create rich, vibrant virtual worlds that place users at the centre, so as to maximize the impact and potential to create transformative experiences. In her free time, Parmida takes in as many concerts, games, galleries, comedy podcasts, and Spotify playlists as she can. She is currently working as a development producer on an environmental documentary about the deforestation of the Amazon.
